
Last week, Woodland High School students had the opportunity to dissect pigs in Ms. Prasanphanich's Forensics class to learn the protocols pathologists follow during an autopsy.

On March 14, Woodland High School hosted their 2nd Youth Entrepreneurship Fair. High School students had the opportunity to sell their products. Products included hair bows, hair clips, bracelets, artwork, pins, and more! #CardinalPride

Earlier this month, senior Harlie Hinkle competed at the state level poetry competition in Jefferson City as part of the Poetry Out Loud foundation. This is a first in Woodland's history! #CardinalPride

Earlier this month, Woodland High School's Speech Club competed at a meet in Doniphan. Haley Lerwick earned 3rd place in Informative and 2nd place in Poetry, Christina Young placed 2nd in Dramatic Interpretation, Wyatt Roark placed 1st in Storytelling, Aaron Stewart placed 2nd in Radio, and Jespn Evans placed 1st in Radio. Speech Club also took home 2nd place in sweepstakes. #CardinalPride



Woodland will have a color guard section for the first time in three years. Tryouts were held on March 5th and 6th. The auditions were run by guest, Mr. Jeffrey Turk. Mr. Turk is a long-time member of Music City (DCI) and La Voute (WGI). It was amazing opportunity to bring in such an expert to help run our auditions! The Color Guard will be performing with the band beginning Fall 2024.




On March 11, Officer Jensen, Woodland's SRO, spoke with the high school forensics classes about a career in forensics and law enforcement.

Congratulations to the Woodland Middle School February Leaders of the Month


Woodland’s MS and HS Bands had the amazing opportunity to participate in SEMO’s first Robert Gifford Band Festival! The students performed on stage in the Donald C. Bedell Performance hall in front of three clinicians. After their performance, students received a clinic from some of the best music educators in the country. During the day, students got the opportunity to hear bands perform including Semo’s Wind Symphony, Rockwood South Middle School, and McCracken County’s High School Wind Symphony. Students also received a mini-tour of the River Campus from Woodland's band instructor, Mr. Seabaugh.




Woodland students in grades PreK through 8th grade are invited to play kickball on Friday, March 22 from 6:00pm-8:00pm on the elementary playground. Registration forms will be sent home with students this week and are due back on March 13. Please contact the elementary or middle school offices with questions.
