The Woodland R-IV School District, along with the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA), is proud to announce that Mr. Ryan Layton has been recognized as 2023-24 National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coach of the year. "Ryan Layton started the Cross Country program at Woodland High School and has spent 19 years building it into a powerhouse. His boys' team claimed the school's first ever state championship in 2023, marking a historic achievement for the program. Layton has led his Cross Country teams to multiple conference and district championships and numerous top-four finishes at the state level. He is deeply involved in his community through the Marble Hill Optimist Club and serves on various athletic advisory committees. Layton believes that coaching is about more than winning - it's about teaching athletes life skills, resilience, and discipline that will serve them well beyond their time in sports." Congratulations Coach Layton!

The Woodland School District Bus #2 was involved in an accident this morning. The bus was rear-ended at a bus stop. The district assessed the passengers and the driver of the bus for injuries and transported the students back to the district on another bus. We are still in the process of communicating with parents of the students and the district will provide support for any students effected by the accident. The district is appreciative of Bollinger County Emergency Services, the Bollinger County Sherriff's Officers, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol in assisting the safe return of the students to the District.
