During the month of March, our librarian, Mrs. Gray, promoted reading for grades 7-12 with a Discover the Pot of Gold: Read and Win event. Students checked out a "Golden Book" that only revealed the books genre until it was unwrapped. Students then read the book and completed a short review form for a prize.

Woodland FEMA Building Usage: There has been a lot of community conversation and phone calls about why the District FEMA building has not opened to the public today. The FEMA regulations for the District building is for occupancy during the school day or during school events only. We recognize that school facilities in other communities are being utilized this evening, but they are considered to be community shelters. Unfortunately, we have been instructed to recommend individuals seeking shelter to contact the health department community shelter in town. Our thoughts and prayers are for everyone's safety tonight.

Please help us celebrate our Middle School Counselor of the Year, Mrs. Jennifer Filer!!! She was nominated by students and staff and selected by the SEMO School Counselor Association as the 2025 MS recipient. We are so grateful for her dedication and support. One student said, "She always helps with emotional problems and has made them better in her own special ways. She is a great counselor. I'll never back down from what I said!" We Agree ☺️

State Championship Week Plans at Woodland On behalf of the administrative team we want to express our appreciation of all the staff, students, and service personnel who helped make last night's game a success. I hope we represented what hospitality and sportsmanship truly looks like. With the thrilling victory and celebration over, the planning for next week goes into action. Our goal is to support the team to the best of our abilities and continue to provide the educational foundations of the regular school day. The games next week are slated to begin on Wednesday morning and depending on the outcome, finish sometime on Thursday. We are going to have classes and allow the staff and students to attend the games if possible. Parents will need to communicate with your building principal if your student(s) are planning on attending the state competition. For those who remain in the District, we will plan watch activities at the school for the students, staff, and community to participate. The parent- teacher conferences scheduled for Thursday afternoon and evening in the elementary and middle school will occur. The high school parent teacher conferences/academic fair will be rescheduled the week of March 17th. The basketball team will represent us well in Columbia next week and we will finish the week with students leading parent teacher conferences in the lower grades.
