Picture of Veda Cornell

Veda Cornell is the daughter of Doug and Stephanie Cornell. When she attended her previous school, she participated in Volleyball and Student Council. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Hinkle, green is her favorite color, and her favorite food is pasta. When Veda was younger, she wanted to be a Paleontologist, she now plans to attend Southern Illinois University for Mortuary Science and Funeral Service.

Her favorite high school memory is decorating the hallways for holidays or hanging out with her friends. Veda’s most embarrassing memory was always tripping up the stairs on her way to Spanish Class. The thing she will miss most about high school is her teachers and doing fun activities with friends. When asked about her thoughts about graduating Veda said, “I’m both anxious and excited, I’m nervous to be on my own but I’m ready to get a proper start to my life.” Her advice to underclassmen is that good time management is very important. Her biggest accomplishment is making the National Honors Society at her old school and being accepted into SIU. The person who has had the greatest influence on her is her parents, “They have always encouraged me to work hard and supported whatever I wanted to do.”

Veda would like to give a shoutout to her Mom, Dad, and Damien Gills.
