Mollie Long was born on December 26, 2008, to Sherry and Gray Long. She has two siblings, Rhodie and Dakota Long. Mollie is involved in volleyball, basketball, cheer, softball, BETA, FCCLA, FCA, and Pep Club, and she serves as senior class president. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Dambach because “she is so kind and always listens to all of my rants in forensics. She has always been so happy to be at school, to teach us, and made me feel welcomed in her classroom.” Mollie describes herself as kind, happy, and smiley. If she could travel anywhere, she would choose Paris to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. Her favorite high school memory is winning the District Volleyball Championship with her team, while her most embarrassing memory is getting at least five flat tires in the school parking lot. When she was younger, Mollie wanted to be a doctor, but she now plans to attend college to earn a degree in special education. Her advice to underclassmen is, “Always give someone a smile, even if you do not like them because you never know what is going on in the person’s head.”

Mollie is excited to graduate and follow her dreams, but she is also sad about “leaving all my underclassmen babies.” She will miss seeing her friends and teachers every day, especially visiting Mrs. Killian’s and Mrs. Toombs’s classrooms for cadet teaching and spending time with the kids. Mollie names her mom as her greatest influence, describing her as “the sweetest human being you will ever meet” and her rock who comforts her when she is upset. She adds, “I love her so much and I am so thankful I have her to look up to in my life.” One of Mollie’s biggest accomplishments was speaking in front of more than 3,000 people while running for BETA vice president at the state convention. Despite being nervous, she delivered her speech to the entire audience.

Mollie’s shoutouts go to Mom and Dad, Drew, Rhodie and Trenton, Dakota, Taylor, Jilly, Owen, Nan, Papa, Gracie, all her cousins, aunts and uncles, the Garners, Mrs. Braswell, Mrs. Dambach, all of her coaches, Bristol, Ashyy, The Fantastic 5, Emma, Slaughter, Mattie, Terri, Addy, Ella, Lauren, the Ponders, the Knotts, Rae, Mya, Azy, the Rants groupchat, La, Pator, Mrs. Killian, Mrs. Toombs, and all the kids she has grown to love in her cadet teaching classroom.
