Karsyn Hastings, born December 14, 2007, to Tim and Denise Hastings, has two siblings, Brayden and Raimee. During high school, he participated in Quidditch Pitch, Men’s Water Polo, Fencing, FFA, and Pep Club. His favorite teacher, Mrs. Balzer, stood out because “she is easy to converse with and always helps me with anything I ask.” Karsyn describes himself as nonchalant, chalant, and ambitious. If he could travel anywhere, he would choose Switzerland to see the Swiss Alps. His favorite high school memories were simply spending time with friends.
As a child, Karsyn dreamed of becoming Spiderman. Now, he plans to move to Texas to start work as an electrician. He considers joining the military his greatest accomplishment so far. Karsyn advises underclassmen, “High school goes by quicker than you think—make the most of it.” While he is sad to leave behind familiar routines, he looks forward to what lies ahead and will miss seeing his friends and teachers every day. He credits his dad as his biggest influence for teaching him everything he knows and his mom for always being his biggest supporter.
