Korbin

Korbin Bane Kinder was born on August 25, 2007, to Shawn and Rebecca Kinder. He has two siblings, Rowan and Talon. His favorite teacher is Mrs. Stegeman because she has always encouraged him to do his best. Three words Korbin uses to describe himself are outgoing, compassionate, and genuine. If he could travel anywhere in the world, Korbin would choose Canada to explore its mountains and alpine lakes. His favorite school memory is dancing at prom with Cassi, Rowan, and Trevor when they were the only ones on the dance floor—it felt like everyone was watching. His most embarrassing school memory was his impersonation of Gregor (the beetle) from The Metamorphosis during his sophomore year.

As a child, Korbin dreamed of becoming an NBA player for the Golden State Warriors. Now, he plans to attend Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) to continue his basketball career. He has been actively involved in BETA, FFA, FCA, serves as FBLA President, participates in Pep Club, and is a member of both the Discipleship and Basketball teams. When asked about graduating, Korbin says, “I am definitely excited to begin this new chapter of my life, but not without the people who have helped me through so much.” What he will miss most is seeing his lifelong friends every day and the memories they created together. The person who has had the greatest influence on Korbin is his dad. “From being my coach and my principal to my father, he has held me to a higher standard and has always expected nothing less than my absolute best. I cannot thank him and my mom enough for everything.” Korbin considers his biggest accomplishment to be maintaining strong grades while balancing sports, work, and time with friends and family.
