Drew Garner was born on April 6, 2008, to Andy and Sarah Garner, and he has one sibling, Ben. Throughout high school, Drew has been involved in FCA, Pep Club, and BETA Club, as well as Cross Country and Track and Field. His favorite teacher is Mr. Layton because, as he says, “He’s a family friend and sometimes funny.” If Drew had to describe himself in three words, he would choose nonchalant, mysterious, and aura. If Drew could travel anywhere in the world, he would choose Italy, explaining, “I would go see the Colosseum and eat Italian food.” His favorite high school memory is shooting the “bug movie,” while his most embarrassing moment was completing his eulogy assignment in Speech class.
When Drew was younger, he wanted to be an archaeologist, but now he plans to attend SEMO to study nursing after graduation. Drew’s advice to underclassmen is simple: “Don’t be dumb.” When asked about graduation, he shared that he feels excited but will miss the people he won’t see anymore. The person who has had the greatest influence on him is his mom because “She’s always held me accountable and encouraged me to be my best.” Drew considers becoming an All-State athlete and a three-time state champion in Cross Country to be his biggest accomplishment so far.
