Chloe

Chloe Kay Troutt was born on June 25, 2008, to Heather Roark and Chris Troutt. She has three siblings: Ethan, Carly, and Morgan Troutt. Chloe is involved in Speech, Art Club, and Library Club. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Stegman because “she never lets me back out of anything. She holds me accountable and pushes me to do my best at everything, even when I’m terrified or sure I’ll fail.” Chloe describes herself as creative, tough, and empathetic. If she could travel anywhere, she would choose to visit a big city like Springfield or Columbia because she always feels at home in that environment. Her favorite high school memories include the many school trips she has attended, especially her back-to-back visits to the MSHAA State Speech Competition. Her most embarrassing school memory happened when she and a friend accidentally spilled black paint all over Mrs. Stegman’s floor—twice. After cleaning it up the first time, they knocked it over again and had to spend several minutes cleaning while other students walked through, spreading the mess even further.

As a child, Chloe dreamed of becoming a “Popstar Princess.” Now, she plans to attend SEMO to earn her degree and become an art teacher. Her advice to underclassmen is, “Experience everything you can—get out there, meet new people, and try new things. I promise it’s worth it.” Although she is overjoyed to graduate, Chloe says she will miss her teachers. She shares, “If there’s one thing that should be known about Woodland, it’s that these teachers are some of the best, most uplifting people.” Chloe believes her biggest accomplishment is never allowing anything to stop her—always pushing forward and persevering.  She credits her mother, Mrs. Stegman, and Mrs. Hawkins as her greatest influences, describing them as three of the strongest women she knows who have helped shape her into the confident young woman she is today.

Shoutouts: Kate, my family, Mrs. Hawkins, Mrs. Stegman, Mrs. Balzer, Mr. Shrum, Mr. Mills, Mrs. Layton, and Chappell Roan.
