Calvin

Calvin Layton was born on October 17, 2007, to Ryan and Tobi Layton. He has two siblings, Reed and Max. Calvin’s favorite teacher is Mr. Mills because he always let him spend time in his room during dual credit. He describes himself as a forward thinker with big goals for the future. If Calvin could travel anywhere in the world, he would choose New Zealand to see The Lord of the Rings film sets in person. His favorite high school memories are the Beta trips to nationals. One memory he won’t forget—although slightly embarrassing—was his freshman year voice crack while singing for Beta group talent.

As a child, Calvin dreamed of becoming an NBA player. After graduation, he plans to attend SEMO to pursue a degree in construction management. He has been actively involved in Beta and FCA and is a member of the basketball, cross country, and track teams. One of his proudest accomplishments is being part of a three-peat state championship cross country team. His advice to underclassmen is simple: work hard. When asked how he feels about graduating, Calvin responded with one word: “Excited.” What he will miss most about high school is being with all his childhood friends. Calvin says the greatest influence in his life is his father, sharing, “He is the most important male role model in my life.”

Shoutouts: Ryleigh, Mom, Dad, my brothers, and the boys.
