Evan Nielsen was born on May 13, 2008, to April Davenport. He has two siblings, Liam and Wyatt Nielsen. Evan’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Balzer because he has had her multiple times throughout the years and appreciates the familiarity she brings to the classroom. When describing himself in three words, Evan chooses quiet, curious, and nonchalant. One of his favorite school memories was going on a band trip to a Jackson football game. His most embarrassing moment happened in Mrs. Balzer’s class when he accidentally let out an atrocious fart that cleared the room. If given the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, Evan would visit Japan to see Mt. Fuji.
As a child, Evan dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, but he now plans to pursue a career in coding. His advice to underclassmen is simple: “Do your work on time.” When asked how he feels about graduating, Evan says he is excited, though not quite ready for the responsibilities of adulthood. He knows he will miss his friends. The person who has had the greatest influence on his life is Riley Dockins, who has been his best friend since first grade. So far, Evan considers earning a strong score on the ACT to be his biggest accomplishment.
