Destiny Brown was born on March 9th, 2008, to Amber and Tony Brown. She is one of five siblings: Wesley, Aiden, Addison, and Lucus Brown. Destiny’s favorite teachers are Mrs. Balzer and Mr. Ridings because, as she says, “ever since I started school in Marble Hill, Balzer has treated me like I have always been there. Ridings always pushes me to do better and never lets me hear the end of it if I don’t do something to my full potential. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything, is just super funny, always listens to what I am saying, and gives me advice on how to be better.” In three words, Destiny describes herself as funny, dependable, and outgoing. If she could visit anywhere in the world, she would travel to Florida, because she loves tanning and the ocean. Her most embarrassing school memory is breaking a spark plug in Mr. Ridings’s class.

After high school, Destiny plans to get her CDL and drive trucks for 5-6 years, then start her own business. She is involved in FFA and Pep Club. Her advice to underclassmen is: “Just get the work done when it is given to you; it is much easier that way.” She is excited to graduate and eager to see the world, but will miss seeing her friends every day. Destiny says her greatest influence is her dad: “He has taught me independence, how to set good boundaries, think fast, and work hard. No matter what problems come, he always gives me advice—even when I don’t want to hear it, but need to. He always sees better for me and never lets me give up. He doesn’t believe in the words ‘I can’t.’ Anytime I said that, he made me do it until I got it perfect. I am so grateful for that because now I believe I can do anything I put my mind to.” Destiny feels her biggest accomplishment is “Moving 5 hours away, having no one, and making so many friends.”
