Maci Noelle McIntyre, born on April 11, 2007, is the daughter of Brittany Simmons and David McIntyre. She has seven siblings: Drake, Kaida, Antigone, Chevy, Bentley, Trinity, and Zoey. Maci’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Gaines (Lauren), because “although she isn’t technically a teacher, she has always supported me and given me someone to talk to.” Her favorite quote from staff is “You’re fine, suck it up,” which is what Lauren would say whenever Maci felt nauseous before a game. In three words, Maci describes herself as considerate, kind, and hardworking. If she could travel anywhere in the world, she would choose Italy for its “beautiful water, good food, and historic sites.” Maci’s favorite school memories include playing Just Dance in advisory with her friends and winning basketball districts three out of her four years in high school. One of her most embarrassing high school moments occurred during an interview with a newspaper; when asked about her favorite part of Ag classes, she responded, “I like how you can get dirty with it.”
As a child, Maci dreamed of becoming a firefighter. After high school, she plans to attend Jefferson College to earn her associate’s degree and major in veterinary technology. Maci is actively involved in Beta Club, FFA, FCCLA, FCA, Pep Club, and Student Council. She also plays basketball. Her advice to underclassmen is, “Be considerate and help others when they need it.” Although she feels “prepared and ready to graduate,” she finds it bittersweet to leave everything she has known for thirteen years. Maci will miss her days sitting in the FEMA with Sara, Mallary, and Carrie, as well as spending time with Lauren and Mallary in the main office. The person who has had the greatest influence on her life is her mom, who has been a single parent to Maci, her brother, and her sister while managing her work as a registered nurse. She has always encouraged Maci to be the best version of herself. Maci considers her biggest accomplishments thus far to be “being an academic weapon and participating in the work program.”
